ASO was founded in 1995 by Allen Sanders. Allen was a York International
employee for 22 years, living in Dallas, Texas. Through Allen's connection
with York's senior management, he learned that York was looking for rapid
growth in the Oregon & Southwest Washington region. Allen accepted the
challenge that the Pacific Northwest market offered. Allen founded ASO
while still living in Texas and began commuting from Dallas to Portland to
promote chillers in the booming semiconductor fab construction industry.
Allen permanently relocated to Portland later that year, and used York as
the catalyst to build a full service representative firm.
As the Northwest construction industry
boomed, ASO became a significant factor in the mechanical community. Allen
wisely chose to align ASO with manufacturers that produced high quality
products, strengthening our position come bid day. Since 1995 we have
added several sales and support staff members to the firm. In 2000, ASO
purchased the Baltimore Aircoil Company cooling tower business unit from
Climate Conditioning. BAC represents the continued growth with market
leading products and instant name recognition. We continue to research
various factories to see who fits into the ASO mold, and what products
will strengthen our overall market presence.
In 2006, ASO hired Jim Krause to support the air distribution products
of Nailor industries. ASO is looking to add further staffing and
grow this portion of our business.
Through 2007, Ray Tatum's retirement and continued
growth of the company brought Doug Giese to our doorstep. Doug
brings another P.E. to our office, with years of experience in the air
handling business, having worked for Tom Berger years ago. Doug is
blossoming into a fine salesman, and excellent addition to the staff.
2007 was a big year for ASO, continuing to grow, adding
personnel and finalizing a long standing agreement between the share
holders, to establish a transition plan for the future of the business.
In 2007, Applied Systems Northwest was organized, as the business
ownership is being transitioned to Tom Berger and long time share holder,
Daniel Mitchell. We are excited to be expanding our regional role in
the community and establishing a plan to successfully take ASNW into the
future. The concerns about the ownership transition are now
behind us, with only a bright future for the company. A little
planning goes a long way.
Our focus is on promoting high quality,
value added products to end users and engineers within our region. Our
strengths lie with the people at ASNW and the ability to apply our products
which offer some of the best energy performing alternatives in the
industry. By browsing our site, and visiting with our staff, you'll find
that our organization is dedicated to serving our customers well and
maintaining the highest level of professionalism within the industry.
